Arun Jaitley fought the case for the film Ran. Amitabh Bachchan was the hero in the film. As soon as the first promo of the film Ran was released, Ram Gopal Varma came into control. The reason for this was the song that appeared in the promo. The lyrics of this song were written by Jana Gana Run, changing the national anthem. The tune of the song was also kept as National Anthem. The director of the censor board had banned the director soon after this promo.

आपको बता दे ....अरूण जेटली ने फिल्म रण के लिए कोर्ट में केस लड़ा था. फिल्म में अमिताभ बच्चन हीरो थे. फिल्म रण का पहला प्रोमो रिलीज होते ही रामगोपाल वर्मा कंट्रोवर्सी में आ गए थे. इसकी वजह थी प्रोमो में सामने आया गाना. इस गाने के बोल नेशनल एंथम में बदलाव करते हुए जन गण रन लिखे गए थे. गाने की ट्यून भी नेशनल एंथम जैसी रखी गई थी. इस प्रोमो के आते ही सेंसर बोर्ड ने डायरेक्टर को बैन कर दिया था.
